Current Event: Discuss this week's current events, locally and from around the world.

Today's Suggested Activities:
  • 1 minute
    • Define Juncture and write or display the definition on the board. Definition: A point of time, esp. one made critical or important by a concurrence of circumstances.
  • Remaining minutes - Whole-Group Discussion, Journalizing
    • Read the following Quote: “You are now at a crossroads. This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don't think about who you have been. Who are you now? Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully.” Anthony Robbins, Advisor to Leaders.
    • Whole-Group Discussion: Does Mr. Robbins statement empower you to forget about the past and focus on the future. Discuss.
    • Journalizing: Think about difficult choices that you will soon face. First list the options and then under each option, write how each choice will impact your future. (For example: Choice 1: Go to college or Choice 2: Do not go to college. Another suggestion: List the pros and cons of each to help you make the best decision.)
    • Discuss Current Events, locally and from around the world.

  • Homework: As you come to crossroads and have to make decisions, think past the moment and make the choice that will most positively impact your future.
