Today's Objective:
  • To choose a name for your advisory group

Essential Questions:
  • Through commonalities, what bonds are formed?

Class Format: Class discussion and small groups

Time Allotment: 15 minutes

Today's Activities:
  1. Advisor: discuss the unqiue qualities or dynamics of your group that you have witnessed over the last week.
  2. Allow discussion amongst the group.
  3. Show the advisees the BHS Advisory Program's name, mascot, and logo: Personal Learning Networks - Personal, Pioneer, Professional.
  4. Choose a name and mascot.
  5. In small groups, create logo. Allow groups to choose tool: paper, Photoshop, etc.
  6. After each group presents, choose a logo for your group.
  7. Proudly display your group's name, mascot, and logo...of course!
  8. Might consider taking a group photo.

  • Paper/markers.
  • Computers, if available in your room.
