Contest Guidelines:
BHS students and teachers may enter as many videos as they choose by the contest deadline.
  • Videos must adhere to the following requirements:
    • Be no longer than 90 seconds
    • Focus on ONE vocabulary word for the given contest period
    • SHOW (through acting out a scene that illustrates the meaning of the word) the meaning of the word, not simply TELL the definition
    • Begin with the vocabulary word and definition printed on screen
    • End with the vocabulary word and definition printed on screen with narration using the word in a sentence related to the action of the video.
  • Videos must adhere to copyright laws:
    • No copyrighted images, sounds, or music may be used.
  • Videos must contain appropriate content (images, innuendo, language) for school. Do not include actions or language or images that are inappropriate for school.
  • Videos may not include student full name or identifying information. If names are included, use FIRST NAMES ONLY.

Students must complete a contest permission form BEFORE submitting a video.

To submit a video to the contest, upload the video to schooltube.com.
  • Create a student account at SchoolTube.com. Your account will be associated with Batesville High School, and all videos you upload will have to be approved by a teacher before your video will display on the site.
  • This 2-page hand-out gives direction for uploading your video to SchoolTube.com.

Winning Videos:
  • During each contest period, teachers will select the top videos based on the rubric below.
    • Coming soon!
  • Students will watch the top videos during advisory and vote to select the winner.

Fall Contest Deadline NOVEMBER 22 by 3:05 p.m. Winning video receives $25 gas card!
  • Entries must focus on one of the following words (any word from Advisory Vocab):
    • inundate, garish, underscore, haughty, transient
    • urbane, meticulous, disseminate, censure, surreptitious
    • melancholy, aspire, concord, diligent, reprehensible
    • exalt, flamboyant, assess, sagacious, paradox
    • assiduous,ominous, quell, manifest, bemuse
